IN CIVIL CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS

// COURSE OVERVIEW

This qualification reflects the role of specialist civil construction personnel who perform technical specialist tasks. They perform tasks involving a broad range of varied activities most of which are complex and non-routine. They are responsible for applying the site work instructions and practices to ensure the quantity and quality of their outputs and contribute to the development of technical solutions for non-routine problems.

This is on-the-job training so you need to be employed in the civil construction industry to undertake this course.

// ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal entry requirements for this course however participants are required to have sufficient numeracy and literacy skills to read and comprehend instructions for:

  • Referencing and understanding legislation, standards
  • Preparing of reports.

Currently employed with in the Civil Construction Industry as a Leading Hand or Supervisor is desirable

// DELIVERY METHODOLOGY

Self-paced/Correspondence delivery generally over 12 months

// RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

All students will be offered the opportunity to participate in a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process if they believe that they have suitable skills and knowledge through work experience, formal and informal training and / or general life experiences.

// FUNDING AND FEES

Fees are subject to change annually.  Fees are payable at the time of enrolment.

Construction Skills Queensland Funding (CSQ) – this qualification can be delivered under the higher level Skills Contract to workers who meet eligibility criteria.  Please contact Civil Train Administration team for further information.
