This course provides operators with the knowledge and practical skills to install and operate metered standpipes and associated equipment.
Students will also complete Unity Waters "The 5Cs Water Hygene Training" induction training.

Upon successful completion of this course participants will be certified to operate a metered standpipe within the Queensland Urban Utilities area.

Metered Standpipe ticket is valid for 5 years

This unit covers the cutting of concrete to initiate planned cracks in road pavement operations in the civil construction industry. It includes the conduct of planning and preparing, selecting and operating a concrete saw and cleaning up.

This unit provides the participants with the skills and knowledge required to identify‚ locate and protect underground services in preparation of a site for construction operations including searching for known or potential services or utilities which may exist under the surface of a specified excavation site.

This unit covers the carrying out of basic levelling in the civil construction industry. It includes planning and preparing, establishing offsets for civil works, setting up and using levelling devices and cleaning up.
Licencing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this course vary between states, territories and industry sectors.

This unit ensures that the participant will gain the knowledge and skills required to safely install and remove trench support in a civil construction application. It includes planning and preparing‚ establishing offsets for civil works, setting up and using levelling devices and cleaning up. The participant will also develop knowledge and skills and the application of awareness regarding safety requirements and issues when working with shoring and trenching.

Licencing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this course vary between states, territories and industry sectors.

This unit covers the entering and working in confined spaces in resources and infrastructure industries. It includes planning and preparing for entry of confined spaces; entry and working in confined spaces‚ exiting confined spaces and cleaning up.

This unit specifies the competency required to work in a confined space (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections. It includes the minimum criteria for competency assessment.
 

This unit covers working at heights in the resources and infrastructure industries.

It includes identifying the work requirements, the names and functions of equipment, components and materials including manufacturer’s instructions and specifications, safe shifting and handling of tools and materials, relevant statutory and regulatory authority requirements, the nature of work undertaken a height, height safety systems, processes of providing for safe working practices, and Safety equipment/systems and considerations to facilitate working safely at heights.

 

To renew your Traffic Management Implementation in Queensland‚ you will be required to successfully complete the Department of Transport and Main Roads approved training program.

Your Traffic Management Implementation qualification must be renewed every 3 years prior to expiry if the holder wishes to continue the role of Traffic Management duties.

The Traffic Management Implementation (Renewal) is aimed at those wishing to retain their ability to place Traffic Management signs on Queensland roads. It has been designed to provide mandatory accreditation under the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices Part 3 (MUTCD).

The Traffic Management Implementation (Renewal) course is designed to establish the underpinning knowledge of the candidate in terms of reading, interpreting, and implementing Traffic Management Plans, as well as ensuring evidence of current onsite skills, knowledge and experience in terms of the set up and removal of traffic signs and devices.

The following changes take effect from 1st October 2019 for this course:
The course has the following pre-requisites when you are due for your renewals:

• Working in Proximity to Traffic - Awareness Part 1 (Copy of Certificate of completion)
• Working in Proximity to Traffic - Awareness Part 2 (Copy of Certificate of completion)
• Currency of Industry Practice (Third Party Reports x2, TGS, toolbox, SWMS Risk Management Plan)
• Copy of QLD TMR Traffic Management Implementation Card
• Copy of Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS302E - implement Traffic Management plan

These are compulsory requirements after the 1st October 2019, those that cannot provide this evidence may be required to complete the full course.

On successful completion of this course, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS302E - Implement traffic management plan and RIIRIS301E - Apply risk management processes along with an approved Department of Transport and Main Roads wallet card.

To become an accredited Traffic Controller in Queensland‚ you must complete an approved traffic controller training course, delivered by a Department of Transport and Main Roads approved training provider.

To renew your Traffic Controller accreditation in Queensland‚ you will be required to successfully complete the Department of Transport and Main Roads approved training program and demonstrate current competence as a traffic controller.

Your Traffic Controller accreditation must be renewed every 3 years.

On successful completion of this course, you will be required to complete the F4115 - Traffic Controller Accreditation Application (download here) to apply for accreditation as a Traffic Controller with the Department of Transport and Main Roads.

The Traffic Management Implementation course provides the skills and knowledge required to implement a traffic guidance scheme for roadworks ensuring traffic flow is maintained and the safety of the public and workers is maximised.  The Department of Transport and Main Roads has approved training providers for this program.

Your Traffic Management Implementation qualification must be renewed every 3 years prior to expiry if the holder wishes to continue the role of Traffic Management duties.
